Hey guys. Would something the size of a Serama be able to live with a rooster (and hens) the size of a Rhode Island Red hen?

Would I be able to introduce my banty hens to the rest of my flock and integrate them without any drastic injuries?

Also, would a rooster the size of a Rhode Island Red hen be able to mate with a Serama with ease or could he hurt the Serama?

I had serama and other bantams with large flock chickens. Hens only.. No problems. Cant help you with the rooster question. I cant keep roosters BTW. Town Rules.

Omg is that a silver sebright with the flock? My silvers look so tiny I'm afraid to even let them free range with the large flock, but then again my rooster is an Orpington and looks almost twice the size of any of my standard hens too

That's good then. I have a Serama and 3 other Bantam hens I'd like to integrate into the flock with my larger birds. I have an Easter egger, a cross breed and a light sussex hen in there with duck right now but they're a proper mess!

I'm planning to change around the setup so the ducks can be in there own pen with as much mud as they like, but my rooster is a light sussex Bantam.

He's roughly the size of a Rhode Island Red hen so I'm hoping he doesn't crush the smaller birds!

I keep chickens as pets, and do like an assortment of different kind. This being said, I do like to observe them as to how each react to the rest. I see that bantam chickens tend to be quite feisty and while not aggressive, are able to ward off or get out of harms way of larger chickens. In my Avatar is my serama. Had no problem sharing food with my kitties. I no longer have her, but am working on getting another soon.
As long as your chickens have a place to escape to or hide, they will be able to live with your rooster.
