I placed and order for 16 chicks today for a friend and me. They are as follows:

AMERICANA
BUFF ORPINGTON
BARRED ROCK
CALICO PRINCESS
DELAWARE
ISA BROWN
SAPPHIRE GEM
WHITE ROCK
My concern is, the Buff, Calico (I assume), Delaware, Isa, and White Rock are all yellow chicks. How am I going to tell them apart? Or do I just need to keep them all for a couple of weeks until they start feathering out?

Where did you order from?
Can you request that they mark them?

Say if you wanted to know which were the Calico then have them mark those.

Hmm, I don't know if I can or not. The first time I ever ordered from a company (don't remember who) they didn't mark, so I've never asked since. I will call them and ask though.

Delaware and white Rock will look pretty much identical and the buff Orpingtons, calico, and ISA will look extremely similar. I'd definitely ask for markings or you'll be waiting until they're feathered to know.

I just hung up with Hoover's and they are going to mark them for me. Thanks for the idea!
