Continued chopping off vines to try to control the spread of the pumpkins into other than their designated area.
In watermelons, I have read that cutting the vines back encourages ripening.Based on their already turning orange, I doubt that they will get really big.
The first year I grew pumpkins, I got 6 pumpkins. I did nothing to control the vines that year.In watermelons, I have read that cutting the vines back encourages ripening.
