Maybe the name is just a marketing ploy?

I think the description is the marketing ploy. The claim that it can grow to 500 lbs. is similar to the claim on many packets of Dill's Giant Atlantic pumpkins which claim they can grow to 1,000 lbs.

If you buy Dill's Giant Atlantic pumpkins from a reputable source you will get the claim that they can grow to 200 lbs. Most commercial Dill's Giant Atlantic pumpkins have been selectively bred to a limit of 200 lbs.

The claim on the Whopper seeds is that came came from a 1,000 lb. pumpkin. Those come with the instructions on what it takes to get them to grow that big.

The Whopper seeds are nearly twice as big as the Cinderella's Ride seeds.

I suspect that the Cinderella's Ride pumpkins will turn out to be about the same size as the Cinderella's Carriage pumpkins which are said to grow to 20Lbs. to 35 lbs.

The first year I grew pumpkins, I got 6 pumpkins. I did nothing to control the vines that year.

The second year I grew pumpkins, I kept the vines in control by cutting them back. I got 34 pumpkins.

That makes me want to prune my watermelon vines next year.

I mostly grow pie pumpkins now but have in the past grown some larger ones. I've noticed the same about seed size. Giant pumpkins usually have the largest seeds.

Big Moose that claims to be able to get to 124 lbs. (yes it can) is the best pie pumpkin I have ever grown. It is yellow fleshed and very sweet. Eaten raw it is similar to eating a sweet carrot.

You can also make pumpkin flour.

The last Big Moose I did was in 2022. I just finished off the one I did in 2021. I froze the puree in 1 1/2 cup amounts since that is how much I use in a batch of my pumpkin muffins.

You can always give the excess to the poultry.

My chickens love pumpkin. They peck until the rind is paper thin. It makes the egg yolks very orange.
They also seemed to enjoy the butternut squash last year. It colored up the yolks as well.

On the Big Moose the only thing my poultry leave is the stem.
