Dimensions for run?

I’m building a run for my two chickens arriving at the weekend. They are ex-commercial layers. The run is going to be 1.65m x 1.2m and then I was gonna use a dog kennel for the coop (for now at least until I can get a proper one). Is this big enough? Is it ok to use a dog kennel?

That's roughly 4' x 5'. It should do for two hens, at least temporarily.

There are dog kennels, dog crates, and dog cages. Not sure what yours looks like, can you post a photo and give dimensions. A photo of the run could be interesting also.

The run is basically to protect them from predators. The coop is mainly to protect them from foul weather. You'll need a nest somewhere. This time of the year in Ireland it doesn't take much though I understand Ernesto is headed your way.
