Dimensions of the pop door, Guillotine style or flap?

The framing for my chicken coop starts tomorrow and I need help urgently.

What is the best dimension for the pop door? We have 4-week old large fowl chicks right now - Javas, Australorps, Cochins, and Welsummers. That's what we plan on keeping as our backyard flock.

I'd like to build an automatic pop door opener eventually. Should we go with a guillotine style or a hinged door flap style? All options are open to me today, but once we start framing, I may be locked in.

I need a Yoda! Guide, you can. Advise, you must.

I recommend the guillotine style; it will be easy to make the change-over when you do install an automatic door. The dimensions I used were 12 x 15 inches, the size of the door panel for Foy's Electronic Doorkeeper. Even my "fluffiest" BO makes it through the doorway.
