Ok, I have several chicks right now, the silkies are 2 weeks old and they have been taken dirt baths, but I have a problem, the dirt bath is in a pie pan which is probably the worst thing ever. Why? because they are getting dirt EVERY where. So I'm up for some ideas, how do you give your chicks a dirt bath? what do you do? I was thinking a closed in box but I don't think they would go in it. There's only one good thing about this and that is they have STOPPED taken there dirt baths in the food dish.. ha ha

If you have pics that would be great too..

Maybe put a cake plate lid (with an opening cut in it) over the pie pan? I think anything that is shallow enough for them to get into will allow them to get dirt everywhere.

But I wonder if it's covered that they would not go in it and take the bath. Right now NO one is taking a bath, I have 16 phoenix chickens laying in the pie pan, no they aren't taken a bath just sleeping in the pan. You can't even tell there's dirt in the pan.. Alls you can see is striped chipmunk looking chicks, covering the pan. Perhaps I can train them to stay there and solve my dirt every where problem...
