Dirt or something else?

One of my BRs has black spots on her comb and wattles. Do you suppose it is just dirt or something else? Should I try to wash it off? I somehow can't imagine giving a chicken a facial. Also, she should be close to laying with that comb and wattles right? I hope...

Could be pigmentation of the comb or little scabs or scratches from sticking her head places where it could get caught, pecks, or bug bites.

I wouldn't worry one bit.

Id put vaseline on her comb and wattles, make sure its not mites

If she has mites, I should be able to see some indicators elsewhere right? How should I look for mites? Around her face and vent?
