Please help.
I cleaned out my chicks brooder, I noticed some water spilled and where the waterer was it was very wet and had a grassy earthy smell, and I found maggots. I cleaned it out, I wiped most of it off, used Lysol on it, and put toilet paper on top to keep everything from getting into the bedroom. My waterer smells the same. I also used febreeze on it too for the smell. I read after Lysol is bad for chicks, they seem fine now. I had to handle this quick because I need to get my chicks things ready for when we go on vacation, and as it was very late, and the problem seemed to be under control, as well as the fact where I moved the chicks was cold and stressed them out, I didn’t do a very deep cleaning. Will they be okay?
Thanks.

I would do a deep clean as soon as you can.
If there are maggots there already then that area has probably been soaked for a while.
As Rosemarythyme stated, try to stay away from chemicals as much as possible if you are keeping the chicks in the brooder.

Thanks. Their brooder doesn’t smell like the chemicals, but they seem okay, I’ll post if anything is wrong. I’m probably gonna take them outside to get some fresh air anyway, maybe that’ll give it more time to air out?

To me, the maggots themselves were not a problem. That's just extra protein if the chicks would eat them. I'd have spread them out so the chicks could get at them.

However, the wet spot that allowed the fly eggs to hatch into maggots is a problem. A wet spot can mold or mildew, which can harm chicks. Also the wet spot can harbor diseases or parasites. The wet bedding needs to be removed and you need to figure out how it is getting wet and correct that problem.
