well if you think its such a bad thing or that they are handled much more roughly than you would like to see, go sit and watch your broody hatches,
all the other chickens out there seem to stomp all over the chicks, pick them up by the scruf and snarf them down, squish them against the wall or wire,.
So if hatcheries handle them too rough for you I suggest hatching your own problem solved.
