Dirty Rats

Today i spotted a rat in my chicken run under their coop where their food is. My question is should i try to trap the rat in a have a heart trap or should i handle it some other way. the rat was as big as the palm of my hand minus its tail.

Sounds like a big old pack rat but better safe than sorry - I'd trap him one way or the other just to get rid of the menace.

While working on trapping him and hoping that he does not have any mates or offspring, secure your food.

actually yesterday my daughter caught him and brought him far back in the yard and released him. there was something wrong with him so i really dont think he will be back. bur i will keep my eye out for others.
