Hello,
I have three ducklings that came to us with disabilities. I have had them on niacin since I got them. I have one Rouen about 1 month old that has her hocks twisting out and walking on her hocks. She has been getting around just fine. We have tried binding them but it made things worse. I also have a duckling that is about 3 weeks old that has the same thing happening to it. I want to do my best to give them the best life I can. I am just trying to figure out what it is and how I can accommodate it. It seems that it was splay leg at one point but just got worse and now their hocks are close together underneath and it causes their feet to go up instead of being on the ground. I have done water therapy for them and kept them on dry, slip resistant bedding. Please help me understand what this is and how I can help them a little.
