disappearing comb

My 3+ year old rescue barn hen is loosing her comb it is slowly getting smaller does any one know why please

I isolated a breeder hen to select her eggs and when she went back with the flock half her comb is missing so either the rooster got too feisty or another hen pulled it off.

We dont have a rooster but I will keep an eye out for bullying in my small flock of 3 rescue girls one barn and two battery, thanks for the reply
