You know, things happen. Don't worry. Could have had a mean carrier in your area too that gave them an extra kick on the way out. Lots of things could have gone wrong. I REALLY liked your last pic!

I'm at day 8 on the ones I candled last night and then I have another group that's at day 5......and then I have eggs that are once again lost in the mail

I'm about ready to give up on shipped eggs!

PC, what type of incubator are you using? What type of thermometer? My hatch rate on shipped eggs varies from 80% to 10%. Shipped eggs are always a gamble and it is easy to get spoiled with a few good hatches with them. The only things that is curious is that typically, transit damage will cause eggs to either not develop or die so early that it appears development never began. I had a lot of problems a while back with early death in development. It turned out that my incubator temp was too high, 102. It did not kill all of the chicks but I finally knew something was wrong when I was getting chicks hatching out on day 18. Some of those chicks also had minor foot deformities as well.

Richard,

I think you probably nailed it there. The symptoms are identical. I'm
using Little Giant 9200's with fan kits and turners. My temps were
probably bad. I'm getting little or no development on eggs that I know
have a high fertility rate. We did lose one to sprayed leg complications
and I have another 4 week old named claw. The name says it all.

My next purchase will be a water wiggler and new thermometer. We
are talking about in on this post:

Here are my thermometers:

Sorry to hear about all the infertile eggs Purple. I hope all the others do well.

I finally got a hygrometer for mine, and humidity was in the 60's.
