Disaster Themed Hatchalong and guess the hatch rate on scrambled shipped eggs

Day 6: the disaster begins! Pulled 5 eggs from the shipped lot (8 left). 2 looked infertile and 2 were sloshy/clumpy and I also had a blood ring. Opened them and had only 1 infertile, others day 2-4 quitters. I’m impressed with the fertility if not the post office. Only 1/13 infertile. Looking back at my previous scrambled hatch I had 25% each for infertile, early quitters (up to day 9), late quitters (day 10 to hatch), and live chicks. I have 7 home eggs developing just fine too. I’m guessing 4 shipped chicks and 6 home chicks for a total of 10, which is a nice size hatch for my set up, also want a hen and a rooster out of the ginger batch, if I only wanted one I’d get the other but this way I won’t be disappointed unless nothing hatches! But don’t worry, Murphy’s law is still with us, my one good air cell egg was infertile!
:fl here's hoping for a nice pair (or more!) of gingers!
No kidding Murphy's law, of course the one good air cell is infertile. 🙄
No more quitters little quail!

:celebrate Let's grow little quail!
:celebrate go Fitzgerald!

Day 8.5: all quiet on the western front, the eye of the storm, everything growing/progressing but will get harder to tell if they quit as eggs are getting very dark and full. Will keep monitoring but may not know until hatch day if they will make it or not. 8 shipped eggs and 7 home eggs. I think come lockdown I’ll separate the eggs into an extra incubator so I know what is home and what is shipped, I’ve got roux in my home flock which looks a lot like ginger, quail hatch in flocks so it is hard to tell which chick came from which egg! Sitting pretty now but these scrambled eggs really like to die right before hatch, still expecting to lose half of the remaining shipped, maybe 1 home egg.

Good idea to separate at lockdown, you know they'll all hatch in the middle of the night when no one is watching to see who came from which egg. 😉

You didn’t miss anything yet, the disaster will be hatch day, we have a week yet, thanksgiving too! All eggs look to be developing fine, some very impressive saddled air cells and some with none (that I can find, probably in some random spot I miss at candling) at all!
