discolored comb and wattle

I set out to butcher my roosters today and I noticed the comb and wattle is discolored around the edges and some have black spots on them. I was wondering if it was just frost bite or are they sick? And are they still safe to eat?

The Comb and wattle are a lot deeper red in the unaffected areas than the picture shows. Not the greatest camera
