I found two birds today that were sick, one being a yellow finch and the other a chick-a-dee, both seem really small easily fitting into the palm of my hand. they hd trouble flying, they would fly up into the air and then slam on the ground. i caught both and have them inside in a cage. ive been hand watering them with sugar water and hand feeding the mashed up chicken feed with water. they have trouble standing and want to roll over on there back, twisting there necks around and so forth... there eyes are clear looking. the chickadee is eating hard bird food but seems to be going down hill. my question is will this get my chickens sick? and if anyone knows anything about the signs the wild birds are giving me? i was wondering also, i have some layer mash that i didnt like to feed my chickens, so ive been putting it in a cookie tin out side with some grit for the wild birds. do you think it could have gone bad and the birds are just drunk??? thanks for your help!
