we have a tenant just like him... ((((SIGH)))))) over here the law protects te tenant more so than the Landlord and we are going through hell because of them..... But I shall prevail.....

Here in NY, even if you get a judgement..... You get get to track the idiot down time after time trying to get payment....

My mom has a judgement against a tenant from 16 years ago! The system is broke. Only if its child support will the courts do anything...

Personal judgements mean nothing here. I have a judgement against a so-called freind for the last 3 years.... Been thru the sheriff twice. Nope I ve been paid 200 out of 3000. Hey interest is adding up... better than a bank account. I'll wait til the idiot buys a house. Hey he's had 2 kids so far and the latest girl knows about the judgement and she don't care, she's the same type, cause she knows NY wont do a thing since its not child support.

But he's behind on child support too, and isn't in jail yet!

Just get those tenants out! Cause that's just gross...... This is the type that causes other people to not be able to rent. I have chickens and can't rent around here...

Darkunicorn is right. The system is broke. I do commercial realestate & have judgements on people who drive Caddies.

The best your dad can do or hope for is to motivate this guy to clean the place up. If the tenant will work "with" your dad, that will help. Otherwise dad will have to hire someone to shovel the place out.

Forgot to mention about the kids, IS it really fair the kids have to live like that. Is the wife going to take the kids? If you let your chicldren live like that, you are promoting disease, vermin to live and really not healthy for the kids. Health services should at least be made aware and maybe he might get his act together.
