silkiechicken I took a plastic shoebox from $store and filled with sand, unfortunately my 6 RSL pullets seem to think it is a neat place to hang out...no bathing...did see scratching and sand flying soon after I put the box in the brooder yesterday. When I checked on them last night before I went to bed, 5 were sitting in the sand or on the edge of the box just hanging out.
This morning DH had a call that our Buff Orpington's had arrived at the feed store 40 miles from us...they were expected on the 17th! So we hurriedly put the new Chick-n-hutch from TSC on the enclosed porch and installed the RSL in their new home so I could clean the brooder for the BO pullets. Next week on the 17th we are expecting Silver Lace Wyandottes to arrive. Lord, did I bite off more than i can chew!
Yikes, DH just called...he is on his way home with another bunny...he said he could not resist a lil Mini Rex doe (he has already named her!) so gotta hurry and get the rabbit cage ready for her. We just moved the Mini Lop doe to the outside hutch this morning.
DH has been hit by the 'cuteness' virus...have had to fight tooth and nail to have anything other than our dog...each kitten I rescued was a confrontation. Never would have believed he would fall so hard for the chickies!
