I'm looking for a small, used chicken coop to keep around as a secondary coop in case of an ill bird, or if I get a few more hens next year. Since it will be used, what is the best way to disinfect it for any previous disease or pests of the previous birds that were in it? I have a pretty good sized farm so I will be able to keep it quite a ways from my current flock until I need it.

I’d soak it in a bleach solution. Spray it on where you can’t reach (nooks and crannies) and let if set at least several minutes before rinsing it off. It takes time for the bleach to work. Not sure you even need to rinse it off if you wait a few days and air it out good.
