Disinfecting Hatching Carton

Does anyone have any pointers for cleaning cardboard cartons before lockdown? I don't want the chickies to get any harmful bacteria on them.

Why cardboard? All paper products absorb moisture that could lower needed humidity.

I thought I should use cardboard since I have heard that plastic heated at 100 degrees could be toxic.
