Those seem like superficial changes, just little tweaks of his appearance, not overhauls of his personality.
If Disney wants a Bart Simpson then they should become creative-for a change- and invent a new character. I like the idea of Mickey's little brother that someone jokingly came up with.
Speaking of the Simpsons, does anyone remember the "Poochie Episode" where the cartoon writers and producers (characters in the show) try to come up with an "edgy, extreme with attitude" character that is a total flop? Trying to make something "cool" will ultimately end up in failure. It would be like trying to makeover Shirley Temple (let's make her EDGIER! A mini-skirt, red lipstick and a cell phone!)
I lamented to my mother that the original Disney cartoons that I grew up with (Goofy learning to ski, Mickey and Minnie going to the park, Donald taking the nephews camping, etc...) are not shown on TV AT ALL!!! And they were old then in the 1980s! The Disney Channel is no longer the one I grew up with, it's gotten a little weird. I did get a Chip and Dale DVD for my daughter and she enjoys it, the same way I did in my youth.
People say today's youth will not be entertained by old cartoons ... well, that's because they're not on TV any longer! God forbid we put on good, wholsome entertainment. Characters need to have magic powers and non-stop action!
I can't think of a good conclusion to the rant, so I'm stopping there
