dissapointment :(

True how the seller, does his part, but still the area you ship to, the mail carrier, can also hurt the good eggs. Mine on a rainy day place mine in my truck. You know how hot they got!!!

If the eggs start forming, then in most case the seller did his part.

I always ship 5 egg on my 4 egg auction, not for the breakage. Just because the shipping hurts the hatch rate.

Still Just keep in mind 50% hatch rate, when bidding on eggs. Lot cheaper to ship eggs than birds.

I sold 4 white peafowl eggs on eggbid for 70.00. at the same time 3 white peachicks sold for 60.00 ,they were 3 weeks old ???

Auctions can alway be crazy.

Sorry your having trouble. I have a question- how can you tell they are dead by candling them the next day after the accident?

I candle alot of eggs, but that seems quick to assume they died. I had eggs where a predator killed the hen during the night- I found the eggs cold, later in the day- and placed in the incubator or under a different hen and they have hatched. It seems that the farther along in their incubation the more eggs can tolerate getting cold. If it happens with in the first few days- that seems to kill the embroys alot easier.

The shipping egg thing just depends on the seller!! How they care for the birds ,eggs and packaging.

I use a GQF Sportsman. I have hatch 10 out 10 peachick. I hope it continues for the rest of the eggs. 30 more to go.

The seller is an important part- but I agree with deerman, shipping can be rough on eggs.

Example: I have sent several orders to the same person- from the same birds, and one hatch will be really good and then the next will not be as good. Since its the same birds, same packing, same incubator, I assume it is shipping.

The onesthat im sure are dead, 1 has big black spot..id say a pool of blood & the others veins are gone now..but the 3 im sure are alive..i can see them swimming.
even when im pretty sure theyve died..just to be sure i leave them in the incubator..if i hadnt done that with my swan eggs..i would have threw out 4 ..and i got a 100% hatch rate with them, even the ones that looked dead..but i couldnt see veins at all becuase of shell thickness.
