Possible splayed leg chick

You can leave it on medicated or not, but regardless what I'd do is get a bottle of Poultry Cell or Nutri-Drench. Using an eye dropper, put a drop to it's right side of its beak. Let it swallow and give another one, up to three being sure it's swallowed before giving it another. Only give plain water after that.

If you have any B-complex, that may help as well. A chick could have 1/4 of one per day.

I've never heard of the pea mash except for ducks. A chick needs its chick crumbles mostly, which can be made into a mash with water, and usually is a hit with the chicks.

Your wife's an angel to work with it. A little physical therapy of sorts should help too, but the balance issue sounds to me like a vitamin deficiency.

Can you get a video of it? If so, post that either in our gallery (tab above) or on YouTube, then paste the link back here.

I'll see what I can do for a video.

Peas were a local recommendation. We tried some egg on another recommendation. Little Derpy LOVED the egg. I think she ate about her body weight in egg! She hasn't eaten that much in the past couple days.

Update to this:

Little Derpy has been utterly passed out (yet still peeping softly) since the egg meal.

Glad the little one ate, glad that @Debbie292d jumped in to help!
I had never heard about pea mash for chicks but I never had banties and those tiny ones are scarier than LF babies
It's gotta be more than 20 years since I've had tiny banties.

If this one recovers my wife is going to have a permanent buddy for life I'm sure!!

I would stop the peas and just give a little mushy chick feed. Poultry Cell has riboflavin (B 2) and so does human B complex. That is what you need for leg and feet issues. You can crush the B into a spoonful of water and give 1/4 of it daily.

I would make it a chick sling out of a sock or other material. The cup is also good. Many of these chicks do not make it, but you and your wife seem really dedicated to give it your all. Here is the chicken sling thread for many examples, and I would place food and water right in front of her, and remove her often to stretch or lie down:

Nobody was really interested in the peas.

One of us plans to run to town today. Will try to find some Poultry Cell.

After the egg last night Little Derpy has been pretty well zonked all night. Water has been a little difficult though.

Try holding a spoon of water and touching it to its beak. It'll probably take a few sips that way.

Got home finally. Got a little more egg in her and some water in here. Tilted the spoon to make some surface tension and put her break in it. We did that probably 6 times.

She is currently under my hand on my chest pecking me and still talking. Always talking. Always.

A couple videos. she didn't really do anything interesting in the videos. She did crash right after one of the videos when she stepped on the slick floor. Right onto her back and yelling about it the entire time.

What an improvement! Good job you two!

She sure doesn't seem to have any issues with her legs now so either your splint or her just gaining some strength straightened them right out. From what I see, her legs are straight underneath her, and the bit of walking looked fine.

Does she cry like that when under the heat too? She just looks/sounds cold.

If you were able to get her some chick vitamins, I think that would help get her back up to speed, but otherwise, I'd not feed her anything but the chick crumbles. I know you said she ate a lot of scrambled eggs, and that's a good treat, but it shouldn't be her meal, as whilst those are nutritious, they're also missing many vitamins/minerals that her feed provides. Make sure she's drinking water too.

Great job!
