The minerals are going to be what is left behind after the water evaporates. If you can get in there to clean where the water sits, then it should be fine.

Is rubbing alcohol a good thing to use for cleaning? I’ve also been adding 2 tablespoons of water the a half tablespoon of rubbing alcohol. Thinking it would help kill off the germs. Not sure if im in the right or wrong.

I clean mine with soap and bleach water. The electronic parts get lysol and then dried before plugging back in. If you have a mineral build up, you can try vinegar to dissolve the minerals.
