Sounds like something my husband would think up. I prefer to keep things simple. When the chicken water freezes I go out and crack the ice and/or pour some hot water on it. We never have freezes that last all day, just overnight. I don't want to live where you do, to cold. I refused to live where it snows! I'm a wimp when it comes to cold! Good Luck!
