DIY feeders and waters for chicks

Yard Sales are a good place to pick up large plastic bowl for small flocks to use for water bowls really cheap. You could even cut a plastic bowl down to make a feed dish. When I raised many different Breeds and kept them separated that's where I picked up most of my stuff. I have over 100 Chickens now but they are free range and I also have Cattle that I buy those large 250# Mineral Tubs. I buy 6 Tubs per year during the winter so I have plenty laying around, they are hard plastic, about 2' tall so I just cut a foot off and have 4 by my Chicken House which I keep clean with fresh water. I also put some big rocks around the tubs so the Chicks can step on the to get a drinks, the seen to like getting on those rocks first thing in the mornings, lol I've also made some water troughs for a above ground puppy pen we have I'm sure would work as well. I took 4" PVC pipe 8' long, I cut the whole 8' piece down the middle so I end up with 2 - 8' halves, I bought 8 4" end caps and cleaned/glued to each end after I cut each 8' half into which gave me 4 - 4' troughs. We use them for water or sometimes my wife will use them for food just depending how many puppies in each pen at the time but those would be great for Chicken feeders or waters for small flocks or individual pens. Just an ideal.

Check out my signature line.

The 5 gallon bucket feeder is the best in the world!!! I have personally tried EVERYTHING else over the past year. This 5 gallon bucket keeps food dry and there is absolutely no waste. https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/...te-5-gallon-25-feed-bucket-feeder-for-about-3

The 5 gallon waterer is great too. I used it all winter in Michigan!!! Keeps water clean and only needs to be filled every 14 days for our 5 chickens.
