DIY HUMANE way to Kill Slaughter Chicken (Stun-kill, Gas)

That's not what my logic is telling me... The brain is where pain is felt. Neck slitting (with a really sharp knife) is barely felt, but a spinal injury is excruciating. I would agree that it's only for a short time though.

I completely agree. Slitting and decapitation are all about a brain dying because it doesn't get enough oxygen. I can't see why anyone would say that decapitation takes longer.
A bird jerking around isn't a sign of it having any brain activity. Birds have a very primitive nervous system. It's a good idea not to take it down until it stops making a mess though

If you halal slaughter a bull by slicing it across the throat it will drain out in a matter of seconds. Humans can lose a couple of pints of blood before they start feeling woozy. Just because it looks messy doesn't mean it is efficient exsanguination.

Beg to differ. Headless birds still flap. It's a neural reaction... just nerves, not panic.

I can't see how sticking a chicken in a bucket, closing the lid and then poisoning it with C02, leaving it gasping until it passes out is going to lower its stress levels. If it was me picking my own sort of execution, and that was the alternative, I think I'd pick the loppers.

In my opinion the best way to butcher a bird is to cut its head off with an axe or meat cleaver, IMO its the quickest and least stressful ANY gas is going to cause discomfort and disorientation to the bird. if you think it would be nervous about a kill cone, why not a gas chamber?
Perhaps if you bought a hand tazer and walked up to it and zapped it? its like sky diving the more you think about it the less likely you are to do it... get a hatchet or a meat cleaver make SURE ITS SHARP! and do it... thats the best way for you AND the bird. like all animals they can sense your stress and That will set them off more than anything.

I cut it ALL. Why not? I use loppers to plain and simply decapitate the animal ; quick death, nothing gets messy. (except wherever the blood drains into)

Thats right - its a hassle free.. i agree to it

It's quick enough I don't think many if any reception to the brain of pain going on happens in time. The moment the blade comes down and cuts, yes, there is pain, but the moment between the blades cutting and the spinal cord completely being severed, the brain disconnected from the body, is such a short time I don't think it really matters.

Yes, in most cases flopping of the body is indeed just the "death dance," but not always. Yes, a proper cutting of the throat is just as humane but remember, not everyone knows how to do it well enough. Many think they do and could care less to know if they're right or not.

Also I've seen a LOT of Halal slaughters, both through commercialized slaughterhouses and also ritualistically in the streets - Neither takes only seconds.

But anyway, I'm not saying a throat cutting is considerably worse, I'm just saying that it isn't the best.

I'm pretty sure the most educated and knowledgeable answer on the subject of when death occurs and how painful it might be is https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=7385852#p7385852
Other
than that, what works for you and you're willing to believe and accept is great. We tend to rehash the same thing so very much. The main point though here seems to be that gassing is horrid and inhumane and either slitting and bleeding or quick decapitation is more humane. Bloodier, yes. Horrid looking, granted. But more humane.

I think what this person was trying to say is that it is easy to psyche yourself out of skydiving if you think too much into it.
