DIY incubator parts bought I think??

Try the largest DOLLAR store you can find. I finally found one myself because of leakage issues of the HM ziplock types. After going to about 7 locations of wm's and $stores... I went in the largest $ store I knew about and asked the clerk and she brought me right to a box of them.

I tried without the hm wigglers and never felt comfortable that the temperature was true.

Again, as I posted earlier if you can't find the wiggler, go to a specialty craft store that sells Floral supplies (no luck at WM or $stores) and look for the crystals that hold water and make your own, as a last resort. At least you won't damage your hygrometer since it holds the water in.

I'm looking for info on the model # for the water heater element everyone is using for the incubators...

Miss Prissy lists hers from lowes costing $8... heat range 90-150F........... and I can't find it on the Lowes website... this is what I found..

I'd go to Lowes or Home Depot... just looking for the cheapest that will do the job... and the model # would be a great help.....thanks...

Just go look. HD has the one I use, it's the 'bottom thermostat'. It's also the only one with 2 screws. You do have to look carefully at the temp range to make sure it goes low enough.

That said, I just ordered a Ranco t-stat (digital) to put in my 'bator. I am soooo tired of trying to set that stupid little screw just right. I think I can just put the Ranco probe in the water wiggler and tell it what temperature I want. That will save me a lot of hair pulling & teeth gnashing.

ok how exactly does the water wiggle thinging work... my mind is not grasping it??

Maybe if I bought one and looked at it I would get it seems to me inserting a probe would pop it???

Nah - most wigglers are made so you can actually insert your finger into it - or at least my kids do - it's kinda like a tube with plastic filled watery walls. So inserting a probe into it shouldn't pop it.
