Today I made a sort of emergency incubator with a 12" × 12" plastic tote. It has 2 holes in the top where the handle attaches and I put a burp cloth in the bottom and placed it on a heating pad on low and placed 3 thermometers in it, one on the floor, one taped to the side wall, and one taped to the lid to see what temperature it sits at. The floor is reading right at 99°-100°, the side and lid thermometers both read 95°. I don't plan to use this unless one of the hens leaves an egg behind to give it a chance to hatch if it's still alive, it's not perfect but I figured it's better than nothing but I'm not sure if these temperatures are ok?
