I went to some yard sales so i have all the basic things for my bator. SO far i am up to, 13 dollars.

Questions: will the water heater thermostat need modified??

who knows of a good DIY egg turner?

What is a good thermometer/ hygrometer, for a reasonable price??

more questions to come once i get going.

EDIT: Great, i took the lamp apart and it is a touch lamp. Will it still work or not??

Yes the water heater thermo needs be moded to be more sensitive there's a vid on YouTube alls you do is drill 3 holes in it orchard supply hardware is where I got my hygrometer any hardware store should carry them

K thanks. I am going to try to removecthe touch sensor from the lamp. But wheredo I hook the thermostat up to? It doesn't have one of those side holes to run wires out of like some.

Save yourself from trouble and buy the digital aquarium thermostat on ebay for $16.99. It's the best way to save you time and headache and you can even put your incubator outdoor with minimal affect. I have schematic for egg turner that I design using low cost parts. I can send you schematic if you want to build one.

Go on ebay and look up Automatic digitial aquarium temperature controller. There are tons of them for sale. Here is a pic of one of my homemade incubators. The turner was very simple to build. I just used 1/2" pvc, hardware cloth and chicken wire screws. This guy shows you how to actually build and wire the bator

The temp. and humidity are wrong because I had just plugged it in.

Those are cheap but I don't want to buy from china or other countries. I like to support the U.S.A. Better quality.

I got the thermostat in my picture from Lowes for around $9. I did modify it by drilling 3 holes in it (as per the video) to make it a bit more sensitive and so far it maintains temp perfectly.
