Yep - many members have built their own bators

I did some improvements on this. i used an old dimmer switch on the extension cord to regulate the heat and holes with tape to control the humidity. getting constant temp humitidy for 5 days now

like the best way to rotate eggs with this bator....

Have you considered just buying a adult female silky? Find on craigslist for 10-20 bucks. She will keep the temp perfect, the humidity perfect, raise and protect the babies.
Just keep food and water close to her, and let nature incubate for just the cost of food.
AND its super cute.

I agree with Sublight, this is a great option of having an adult female silky.

build an incubator in an old fridge, you can cut into the door and add picture frame glass for a window with wood surround, run it from 12v and you can run it during power failures.'

when chooks settle in and there is lots of food, they go broody
