So we only have one laying in the boxes the others are too picky and would rather lay on the floor so I Jerry rigged some diy nesting boxes for the ground

Whatever works! Good improvisation!

I'm old so don't like picking them off the floor, but do have one of those litter grabbers for the duck eggs. That works slick!

We dont have ducks wish we did. Since they are chickens they will probably use the boxes bc they would probably rather use trash than perfectly good nice metal nesting boxes

One trick I hear people use to get them to lay in the proper boxes is to put a couple of fake eggs or golf balls in them. It's worth a shot.
