I can't remember which distributor I called, but I asked if they would open for cleaning. They went out to their warehouse and checked. Told me there was no way to open them for cleaning which made me decide not to get it.
I had originally thought it might be a good option for heating water in the winter but if you can't open and clean them out it didn't seem like a good thing.
ETA: Also looked at the larger bucket ones. Still no way to clean the interior:

This is why I got all my chickens 2 gallon buckets. I can dump them out, add ice, and clean them easily, and can always see who needs water. It may be easier for you to give them warm water in the winter depending on your arrangements. I remember leaving an ax next to the horse's water because I needed it every day.
