I agree, I saved the pic on my ideas folder on my laptop, would be great for fireflies!

I grew up in Mississippi...we called them "lightning bugs."

Lightning bugs here in LA. Sadly we don't see them any more. When I was a little girl we would catch and release tons of them. Chasing lightning bugs in summer was a great activity. I think my granddaughter may have never seen one. When I lived on TN they still had them and it brought back great memories.

Here in East Texas we still see them on occasion, but not often. I think all the spraying to kill mosquitoes has killed them off. Very sad, but I guess it's better than everybody getting West Nile Virus......

Never seen one either. Seen pix of them. But they live in areas where there is a lot of water. as in vernal pools. None out west here. Probably couldnt get past the midwest.
