15 years ago I have not seen one since I came from Mexico. In spanish they are called Luciérnaga and we locally called them Copeche

Until the previous post I have not noticed the decline. Along with the die offs of sea life and other nature this is indeed very alarming.

X2. Alarming and sad. We can all do our part. It's like the Starfish story. Where thousands of Starfish are washed up on the shore and lying in the hot sun. A man on the beach is throwing them one at a time back into the ocean. Another man came along and said "you can never throw all these Starfish back in, why do you bother?" The man throwing the Stsrfish answered as he threw one more back into the ocean,"because it matters to this one ." It's the same about the environment and each and every critter that we care for: every little piece we do does really matters. Thanks for hearing me out. The problem isn't so big that we do nothing. Ok, I'm stepping off my soap box. Have a great night and sweet dreams everyone.

I think it looks PERFECT! For sitting in the chicken yard, I wouldn't have gone with white paint in case the birds poop on it. But just my opinion.

Thanks Kuntrygirl!! That's one reason it's brown. Lol. They will definitely get on it and poop. Also the chicken yard is very earthy. Lol
