I ordered that and it's not anything like the one at Walmart. I sent it back. It's one of those plastic ones with a slip on cover and it doesn't have the number of settings as the other one, so not as easy to hold to a certain temperature~I couldn't get it to hold on the desired temp with the settings that were available. I'd give it a pass.

I have the book Fresh Eggs Daily and she recommends different things to feed to keep worms away. I think pumpkin is one of them. I will need to see. Herbs are good for a lot of things too.

That is a neat idea. I bought a heat plate. I bought baby parrots years ago and the breeder just laughed about people keeping their birds draft free (even as adults). She kept her babies warm but didn't worry about drafts. She pointed out that when a bird flies it gets pretty drafty.

Nice lid. I have kitties that I need to keep out of my brooder. I'm using a box inside my metal dog crate. I'm putting plastic garden netting around it to keep the babies in. I need to get my coop built ASAP so they can go outside as soon as the weather permits. My chicks are coming the end of the month.

Keeps my mini dachshund out of them. She thinks that chicken poop and shavings are awesome to roll around in and digging is fun too. The ducks don't share her enthusiasm

Walmart! Sunbeam brand, has 6 settings and a feature for auto shut off in 2 hrs or to stay on indefinitely. Good price, too.

Two hour switch is available if you want to use it. Or not. I used it all night for over a year before it bit the dust. I'm torn between buying for me or my chickens.

I bought the plastic one after my other one died and it was a piece of crap. Bunches and rolls. I even gave a bad review on Amazon. And I never do that.

Pick a few things you know you're gonna need like coffee etc and make up the difference in money. It's worth it to me to do this once a month on heavy things that I don't want to lug into the house. But I see your point in Amazon Prime. (Just got my notice that my $69 yearly fee will be $99.) Bummer.
