Alternate method to prevent water freezing.
This has very nice reviews! I plan on trying it this winter. In previous years I have always used an electric bird bath feeder (I don't remember how much they cost, probably not more than $40). Good luck!

That’s a great idea but it says it only works for areas that don’t get below 0 and we do
