I have a large uncovered chicken run, underneath 3 large trees with fairly good drainage. Is it possible to do the DL method with this setup?
Thanks guys

Should work. A forest has basically a large deep litter system going on. Some trees like their roots exposed, but most will raise them over time.

That sounds great! I have plenty of yard clippings, plus an abundance of of leaves in the fall.

Beware of adding too much fresh yard clippings (don't really need to add any 'greens' IMO-need 'browns' to 'eat' up the 'green' poops) they can gorge on fresh grass clippings and impact the crop.

I collect dry leaves in fall and store in feed bags in a shed, then add occasionally over the winter.
