No, Buckeyes are pretty plain-looking, but really nice girls. Red with rose combs, light brown eggs. The one in my pic is a Columbian Wyandotte. They’re sweet, too, but they’re not into mice.

I am fascinated by your story about them chasing/catching mice. I need to see if I can find a couple of Buckeyes!

See if you can get some from a breeder or eggs from a breeder. Mine are young, but I don’t think they’re gonna reach full Buckeye stature. They’re supposed to be pretty good sized. If it warms up, I’m going to try to find some eggs to order from a serious breeder.
