Hi, everyone! I was wondering if I need to supply my ducklings with food and water at night when I lock them up? I want to be sure they are secure for the night but don't want to put their water and food in their pen with them if I don't have to. Thanks for any help you can give me!!!

I would get a water feeder that only puts water as they drink it.
We water our ducks first thing in the morning because they drink their water.
I could not sleep at night thinking they were thirsty.
Our waterer isnt messy so their pen isnt flooded.
We had problems with their pen being soaked before my husband came home with the waterer.

Where did he find it? I have never heard of that. Just the regular 2 gallon metal waterer. Thanks!!

Its a 5 gallon metal waterer!
We don't have a problem with it over flowing and spiliing into their pen. The water stays in the lip part.
We had a regular metal bowl and they were constantly spilling it and gettting into so they would run out of water and their ground wohld be wet.
You can tell in the picture if my pen that their grass is dry

Some people here have had good luck with placing their waterers on a perforated surface or stiff screen positioned on top of an old baking pan or shallow plastic tub to catch splashed water. I would put it on the floor and build up the bedding around it so the ducklings could get to the screen surface and the waterer.
