I've known of the Australorp breed for many years but never had any in the flock until now. I ordered 10 pullets but only 8 were girls looks like. I have a super broody hen and she took to them instantly. She always does. You know how baby chicks will get up on the hen' back and sit there? Seen it a million times, but these chicks go along for the ride.......long rides. I checked to see if they had thumbs. How do they hold on like that? The mama hen doesn't seem to mind and doesn't act like this is anything new. Kooky man.
