do barred rock roos ears turn red before the ladies

i got about 24 br and two or three have dark red ears and red combs i ordered them all from a hatchery (meyer) as pullets but was hoping one or two would be roosters

I have Dominiques, similar in coloring to the barred rocks. The girls are 11 weeks old and have red ears and combs appearing. How old are yours? Are some more pronounced than others? Mine were also from Meyers Hatchery. I ordered 12 different birds, 6 different breeds, asked for all pullets. Looks like that is what I have too! (Of course, they are 11 and 8 weeks old...could change

Barred Rock roosters are usually much lighter colored than the hens

I have barred rocks and the roos are lighter in color and thier combs and waddles developed much earlier than the hens, they are around 10-12 weeks old right now, at 4 weeks i knew who ther roos are by thier combs and waddles, and thier feathers are more lighter in color.

Oh btw, for those who wonder at what age do barred rock roos crow at? mine started crowing this morning, lol sound like deflating plush toys, lol

oh and the lighter that they are all talking about is the feather and barring on the chicken, the roosters are much lighter and a wider barring on the feathers, the hens are a tighter and darker barring.
