Do the bbs orps. lay as well as the buffs? Just out of curiosity. I want them anyway but like I said just curious. Jean

I have one black hen laying and she is doing about as good as the buffs. I get about 5 eggs a week from her.

It depends on the birds. The more prodcution type will lay better than say exhibition birds.

I can only speak for the ones I have. Skye, who is now over two years old, lays 5 eggs each week. Dusty and Smoky lay six eggs each. Velvet used to lay 5 eggs, though I lost her this past year. I'd say that they lay almost as well as the Buff Orpingtons.
