Do bearded Silkie roos have distintive combs and wattles?

Its hard to tell! I don't see any streamers except a maybe on the first white one...so that one may be a male...All the blacks look to have the nice poof that you tend to see on hens...Its still a tad too early to tell maybe.

Skitz, now does anyone make fun of YOUR nose(LOLOLOL!). It is a bit on the large size. I tell Jasper (that's the chicken) that he's (?) going to grow up to be an eagle!!!!

The only one I see as a male so far is the first white one, though the second white could be as well. The second white needs a beak trimming SOON.

I want to know where the world or how the world you trim a chicken's beak...

I mean i have two cockatiels and a friend of mine has 6 large parrots and they do have to get beak trims every couple years...but a chicken? Do you know how much a vet charges for that kinda thing!?

I say take the dremel to it...

you can trim the beak with a dremmel just use the low setting otherwise it gets to hot. you can also use toenail clippers. Beware shrapnel !!!

I know you are right about the beak trimming, but I have never done that before (never had to on any chicken). Does one hold it down and the other trim? Oh BOY, this should be interesting Jasper is not going to talk to me for at least a week!!!!!
