In my new batch of chicks the one that is supposed to be a Black Australorp, but is getting feathers on her feet. If not what could she be? she is four weeks old.
Have a great day.
Update she is a Blue Copper Maran

Australorps should have clean feet. If they are very small/sparse I suppose it is possible that they are feather stubs? Orpingtons sometimes get these and Australorps are essentially a better-laying Australian version of an Orpington. That being said, I've never seen an Australorp with feather stubs on their shanks. Chances are it is a Black Cochin, Langshan, Marans, or Marans x that the hatcheries are marketing.
