Do Black Copper Marans grow slower?? I have been raising 9 silver laced wyandottes since chicks that were born in Mid-February, and I just got 2 "Black Copper Maran" pullets that were born in January. My wyandottes look WAY bigger than these 2 new pullets (which I am quarantining). Any thoughts? Or do I just have hefty girls?

Wyandottes are a fast developing breed, so yes, Marans are slower growing. If you want us to take a look, post some pictures. Otherwise, I wouldn't worry so long as the Marans continue to develop at the slower rate.

We got straight run and have figured at least 2 of them are most likely males! We are keeping at least 1 (maybe 2 if they get along and the girls are safe).

We have two Wyandottes and two Marans. They're all two weeks old. The Wyandottes are already noticeably bigger than the Marans - they're actually bigger than everyone else. :)
