I have 2 five week old BR chicks.

They both seem to have larger combs than the rest of the chicks.

And they cant fly up to the top of the brooder either, they are the only ones that keep crashing into the wall, poor things.

They are supposed to be pullets. But just wondering if anyone else has noticed this?

Thanks

I have an 8-9 week old BR pullet, her comb was bigger then the EE around 5/6 weeks, and also had started turning red around 6/7 weeks

she is definately a girl. BR are fairly easy to tell, if you have pictures you should post some in the "what gender or breed?" forum. A bunch of people on BYC know barred rocks well

My BR chick is MUCH more agile then my EE.. I get worried about the poor EE because she has NO depth perception and jumps extremely high to get onto something not so high, and usually ends up faceplanting. The BR can run, jump, and just about tightrope walk haha.

My BR roos had huge combs compared to the BR pullets. Post a pic
