Do Broad Breasted Whites need a roost?

I'm getting 1/2 a dozen Nicholas white turkey poults later this week (I believe they're essentially the same thing as a BBW?). My plan is to run them in a tractor. Do the heavy commercial breed turkeys require perches, or are they like the CornishX chickens where it's better if they just roost on the ground?

They would be better off on the ground. They are prone to leg problems as it is from the weight I can't see them going up or down from a roost

We had a couple hens that would sit on a roost once in a while. They could barely hop up the two feet to the roost and I was always afraid they would get hurt because they are so clumsy. They are probably better off on the ground.
