do brooding hens go into a lock down mode the last few days? like an incubator?

my 2yo choc orp hen stella is on 5 duck eggs day 25
i hear peeping, at least one egg has external pip now

does this mean Stella will not move off of the nest to eat and drink and poop etc. anymore until after they are all hatched?
